If you've spent any time scavenging in ARC Raiders, you've probably picked up a few Damaged ARC Powercells. At first glance, they look similar to regular ARC Powercells, which can make new players wonder whether they're useful for combat, shield recovery, or future crafting projects.

The short answer is simple: Damaged ARC Powercells are primarily scrap materials. They cannot be used as functional energy cells, but they still have value when recycled or sold.

What Is a Damaged ARC Powercell?

A Damaged ARC Powercell is a common loot item found throughout the game world. Unlike a working ARC Powercell, it has suffered enough damage that it can no longer store or provide usable energy. Instead, it serves as a recyclable resource that can be converted into crafting materials.

According to currently available item data, the item has the following characteristics:

Rarity: Common

Weight: 0.25 kg

Stack Size: 5

Vendor Value: Approximately 293 Credits

Because of its low weight, carrying a few isn't usually a problem. However, inventory management becomes important during longer raids, especially when every kilogram matters.

Can You Use It to Recharge Shields?

No.

This is one of the most common misconceptions among new players. A functional ARC Powercell can restore shield energy in the field, but a Damaged ARC Powercell cannot perform this role.

Think of it as the difference between a working battery and a broken battery. They may look similar, but only one can actually power your equipment.

If you're entering a difficult extraction run and expecting emergency shield recovery, carrying Damaged ARC Powercells will not help you survive combat encounters.

The Best Use: Recycling

The primary reason to keep Damaged ARC Powercells is recycling.

When processed, each unit yields:

1× ARC Alloy

ARC Alloy is a useful crafting component used across multiple recipes and upgrades. While one alloy may not sound impressive, the numbers add up over time.

For example:

5 Damaged ARC Powercells = 5 ARC Alloy

20 Damaged ARC Powercells = 20 ARC Alloy

50 Damaged ARC Powercells = 50 ARC Alloy

Players who regularly farm ARC machine hotspots often accumulate dozens of damaged powercells during a week of gameplay. Recycling them can provide a steady stream of materials without requiring dedicated crafting-material runs.

Where Do Damaged ARC Powercells Drop?

The item commonly appears in locations associated with ARC technology.

Some reliable sources include:

Destroyed ARC Machines

Wreckage left behind after battles can contain damaged technological components, including powercells.

Active ARC Enemies

Mechanical enemies occasionally drop damaged powercells when defeated. Farming groups of lower-tier machines can generate a surprisingly large amount of recyclable loot over multiple raids.

Industrial and Technical Loot Areas

Facilities containing generators, maintenance equipment, and electronic storage containers often have a higher chance of spawning technology-related items.

A practical example is a player running three successful extraction raids focused on machine hunting. If they average only 3 to 4 Damaged ARC Powercells per raid, they could return with roughly 10 powercells in under an hour, translating into 10 ARC Alloy after recycling.

Sell or Recycle?

In most situations, recycling is the better long-term option.

Selling a Damaged ARC Powercell provides immediate credits, which can be useful when you're short on cash for equipment purchases. However, ARC Alloy is often harder to acquire consistently than credits.

Many experienced players follow a simple rule:

Early game: Sell extras if credits are needed.

Mid game: Recycle most of them.

Late game: Recycle almost everything for crafting efficiency.

This approach helps maintain a healthy balance between currency and crafting resources.

While discussing crafting progression, many players also look for ways to speed up blueprint acquisition and equipment development. Communities frequently mention marketplaces and trading resources such as U4N, buy arc raiders blueprints instant delivery when comparing options for obtaining rare crafting plans, although individual players should always evaluate the risks and benefits of any third-party service.

Should You Keep a Large Stockpile?

Not really.

Current game information indicates that Damaged ARC Powercells are not tied to major quests, hideout progression requirements, or critical station upgrades. Because they are relatively common, there is little reason to fill valuable stash space with dozens of them.

A reasonable strategy is to keep a small reserve for future crafting needs and recycle the rest as they come in.

Damaged ARC Powercells are not exciting loot, but they are far from useless. They cannot recharge shields and have no direct combat application, yet they provide a reliable source of ARC Alloy through recycling.

For most players, the smartest move is simple: collect them during raids, recycle them into ARC Alloy, and avoid wasting storage space by hoarding large quantities. Over dozens of extractions, those small scraps can quietly become an important source of crafting materials that support your long-term progression.
